We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at HomeCareDirect. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to a young man with complex care needs. The role is based in Lewes, Brighton, and requires continuous supervision, care, and support. The waking night hours are 7pm to 7am on a Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.


About the Client and Support Needed:
Our client is a charming, humorous, and happy young man who requires support to ensure his safety. Your role will be to ensure he is never left alone and to respond to him when needed, accompanying him to the bathroom, supporting during seizures, and calling for assistance if necessary. You will also ensure his medication is administered on time each morning.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of a similar care role and a knowledge of children's British culture or similar interests. You should be friendly, enthusiastic, and meticulous with punctuality, with a good sense of humour.

Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
  • This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 - there is a genuine occupational requirement to recruit female support workers only
  • Experience in a similar care role is required
  • A willingness to provide holiday cover across the team
  • Prepared to commit to long-term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
  • Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
  • Respect Company policies and procedures
  • Be reliable / non-judgemental / caring / responsible / compassionate
  • Committed to confidentiality and to treat the client with dignity and respect

Contractual Benefits:

An hourly pay rate of: £14.01 per hour
Company pension scheme
Enhanced bank holiday payments: 2 days at x 1.5 hourly pay and 5 days at x 2 times hourly pay
Annual Leave is paid at 5.6 weeks (pro-rata) per annum, based on contracted hours
