This is an exciting opportunity at Macclesfield College to provide effective support to students on a range of programmes with individuals with differing needs to enable them to meet their learning objectives.

Main duties include:

  • To work with identified students in supporting the delivery of the objectives as set out in individual Education and Health Care Plans.
  • To assist learners in or out of class, on work placements and during lunch and break times as required to ensure the safety of the students.
  • To liaise with teaching staff regarding the needs of individual learners, and assist in the preparation of teaching materials to ensure effective learning.

A suitable applicant must possess a Level 2 qualification in English, Mathematics and ITQ or a willingness to work towards the qualifications in a timely manner. A relevant qualification in Learning Support alongside a First Aid qualification would also be desirable for this role.

Successful applicants will have previous experience supporting learners in a variety of curriculum settings and with a range of disabilities and/or learning needs. FE experience is desirable but not essential.
