Equine Technician

As an Equine Technician at City College Norwich, you will play a vital role in supporting the Easton College Equine Centre. Your primary responsibility will be to provide practical learning opportunities for students, including demonstrating skills and supervising yard duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting with equine husbandry, record keeping, and health monitoring
- Ensuring horses are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and students
- Working in a flexible and busy environment
Requirements:
- Relevant practical experience (mucking out, feeding) and riding experience (walk, trot, canter, and jumping)
- Preferably a BHS Stage 3 qualification, however equine experience will be considered
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Working Hours:
This is a supply technician role, and as such, there are no set hours. Support may include weekends, bank holidays, and during college holidays.
DBS Check:
We require all staff to undertake an enhanced Adult and Child Workforce DBS Check and to register with the DBS Update Service.
Please note:
From 28 November 2020, the government implemented changes to the filtering rules. We cannot accept any update service checks on DBS certificates issued before this date. A new check must be completed with City College Norwich.
