About the Opportunity

DP World is currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor to join our team.

About the Role

This role is responsible for overseeing business operations, delegating tasks to team members, and resolving problems that occur on their shift. The Operations Supervisor will work across a rotating shift pattern of 8am-4.30pm / 12pm-8.30pm / 4pm-12.30am Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities
  1. Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities: The Operations Supervisor is accountable for ensuring all employees understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to site H&S procedures.
  2. Corrective Actions: This role involves identifying and implementing corrective actions for issues arising that affect departmental KPIs and specifying process improvements to enhance operational performance.
  3. Representative Functions: The Operations Supervisor represents the department at internal and external customer meetings, communicates departmental shift issues and performance at team briefs, and attends team board reviews and board walks.
  4. Manpower Resource Management: This role requires effective management of manpower resources to support customer delivery requirements and driving company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels.
  5. Process Standardization: The Operations Supervisor manages the development and maintenance of accurate Standard Work documentation and continually audits employees against the standard to drive process consistency.
  6. Training Needs Identification: This role involves identifying departmental training needs using company training processes and capturing all training with sign-off documentation.
  7. Quality Objectives: The Operations Supervisor drives Departmental Quality objectives, completes full PPS activity, and Root Cause Analysis for any Premium Freight, scrap costs, or stock losses.
  8. Engineering Support: This role assists production in engineering changes, production trials, model change, and pilot build.
  9. Customer Proposal Development: The Operations Supervisor supports in developing concepts for use in formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts.
  10. Organisational Vision and Strategy: This role collaborates with the Senior Management Team in setting and driving organisational vision, Operations strategy, and hiring levels.
  11. Operational Supervision: The Operations Supervisor supervises company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and meet organisational goals.
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing teams and driving business performance.

A strong understanding of business planning, data analysis, and performance metrics is also essential.
