Job Overview

This role is part of a team working closely with a leading semiconductor company in Cambridge.

You will be responsible for driving the verification of System on Chip (SoC) RTL designs modified for FPGA implementation, developing and maintaining SoC verification testbenches, integrating third-party verification intellectual property (VIPs), writing testcases in C, reusing C testcases from internal IP/SOC frontend teams, creating test-plans, and developing tools using scripting languages like Python, Perl, and Shell for automation of tasks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute verification strategies to ensure thorough testing of assigned SoC modules.
  • Work closely with design engineers, architects, and other verification engineers to understand design requirements and plan verification.
  • Apply excellent verbal and written communication skills to report verification progress, issues, and results to stakeholders.
  • Automate test cases and regression suites to improve verification efficiency and coverage.
Key Requirements
  • Understanding of verification flows, hardware description, and verification languages (e.g., SystemVerilog, Verilog).
  • Good understanding of digital design fundamentals.
  • Understanding of computer architecture.
  • Good command of C and automation experience with Tcl, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of SoC verification flow and strategy.
  • Experience with ARM-based designs and/or ARM system architectures.
  • Experience with verification methodologies (UVM/OVM).
  • Knowledge of AMBA, PCIe, and CXL (desired).

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes comprehensive benefits such as pension scheme, health insurance, and annual bonuses.
