Group Reporting Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Reporting Accountant to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly consolidated financial reports, including cash flow, balance sheet, and income statement.
- Review and challenge inputs from finance teams for results, forecasts, and budgets.
- Post adjustments through journals on behalf of the Group.
- Perform month-end controls, including balance sheet reconciliations and system reconciliations.
- Manage accounting responsibilities for central cost centers.
- Provide guidance and training to Finance on reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes and systems.
- Review and challenge the monthly Board report.
- Support the external reporting team with year-end accounts and audit.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong accounting background and experience in external financial reporting. You will also need to have strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to maintain and build robust relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience of using company IT systems, including SAP and HFM, would be desirable.

We offer a competitive daily rate of £500-£600 per day, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment.

Location: Hybrid, Reading.
Length of assignment: 3-4 months.
