We are seeking an exceptional Kayaking Instructor to join our team at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Based at our Fort William campus, you will play a critical role in delivering our kayaking programme, working closely with colleagues to ensure its success.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in outdoor education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have a passion for delivering high-quality learning experiences and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.
This is a permanent position, offering a competitive salary of £26 per hour (equivalent to £52,400 per year) depending on activity. The working hours are variable, and the location is primarily based at our Fort William campus, with occasional travel to Broadford.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a safe and engaging kayaking programme, liaising with candidates, National Governing Bodies, and College staff/departments to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. You will also be involved in supporting programme evaluation, enhancement, and continuing personal development.
