Aon is seeking a Catastrophe Analyst to join our Global Reinsurance Specialty (GRS) Analytics team in London. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing clients with expert advice on their exposures to natural disasters.
Key Responsibilities- Support clients with analytics, reports, and presentations to help them understand their risk exposure.
- Collaborate with brokers and actuaries to review modeling results, explain limitations, and resolve issues.
- Develop and provide technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Run client portfolios through natural catastrophe models to quantify risk.
- Undertake sensitivity testing to help clients understand the impact of data quality and assumptions.
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions.
- 2+ years of experience in catastrophe modeling or a related field.
- Working knowledge of vendor cat models (RMS and Verisk).
- Understanding of the science of natural catastrophes and ability to validate and interpret modelled loss estimates.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and good communication skills.
- Project management skills with the ability to work in a team and independently.
