Opportunity for an Experienced Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated consultant to join our team in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

This exciting opportunity allows the successful candidate to contribute to delivering high-quality care in a beautiful area of the country, working closely with primary care dental services and the Peninsula Dental School.

A formal job plan will be established between the appointed individual and clinical colleagues, based on departmental needs and individual strengths.

Main Responsibilities
  • Full participation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services in Cornwall.
  • Share responsibility for day-to-day management of the workload with colleagues.
  • Contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators for the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is the main provider of acute and specialist care services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • GDC/GMC registration with a Licence to Practice.
  • GMC Specialist Register for or within six months of obtaining CCT/European Community Rights at time of interview.
  • Completed the Intercollegiate Fellowship Exam in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing complex facial trauma, oral cancer, and temporomandibular joint pathology.
  • Broad experience in head and neck skin cancer surgery, including metastatic disease.
  • Training in teaching and postgraduate/undergraduate teaching experience.

Estimated Salary: £85,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience.
