We are seeking a Property Risk Underwriter to be based in London on a full-time basis, reporting to the Group Head of Delegated Property.

The successful candidate will assist the Delegated Property Underwriters in underwriting quality Property business in line with the business plan, ensuring maximum return of profit while maintaining the firm's reputation and integrity. This role involves:

  • Assisting in the management of property binders, including performance monitoring, referrals, bordereaux management, rate movement, claims trends, regular reviews, underwriter visits, and audits;
  • Assisting in the underwriting of new and renewal Property binders, exercising judgment in all underwriting matters, and remaining aware of own underwriting limits as set out on the Underwriting Authority sheet;
  • Acknowledging that our estimated salary range for this position is £50,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Knowledge of the underlying principles of insurance, legal principles, and relevant regulatory frameworks;
  • Familiarity with the Lloyd's insurance market, delegated property business, and associated regulations;
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to assess risk and make informed decisions;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
