Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Bolton Council. The successful candidate will provide support to students with special educational needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt the curriculum and provide individualized support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs in KS1 and KS2, working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCO.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt the curriculum and provide individualized support to students with special educational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of NVQ2 or equivalent in teaching assistance, or be willing and committed to working towards this within an agreed timeframe.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and patience in approach to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Passion for supporting students with special educational needs and a commitment to providing high-quality support.
