Ceres Power Limited is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Design Lead to join our team in driving clean energy innovation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the electrical and power electronic design for fuel cell and electrolysis systems as part of the Systems Engineering function group.

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve fuel cell and electrolyser stack design and stack array module design.
  • Design and deliver grid connections for power generation and demand projects involving AC and DC distributions.
  • Produce high-quality electrical designs and drawings, including high-level wiring schematics.
  • Manage and review the design and delivery of works being undertaken by electrical contractors/installers.
  • Provide technical advice to project leadership to ensure all aspects of the electrical design are appropriately considered and risk assessed.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, advising project leadership on an ongoing basis about existing risks and anticipated related liabilities.
  • Review and approve electrical design compliance with all relevant national and international standards.
  • Generate and review electrical design requirements for interfacing fuel cell modules or electrolyser modules to external connections.

Requirements:

  • Qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Positive mindset and can-do attitude.
  • Experience in designing and delivering grid connections for power generation and demand projects.
  • Practical experience of designing electrical systems.
  • Experience in interfacing electrical systems with control system elements.
  • Good understanding of grid connection process, regulations, and policy.
  • Knowledge of power system modelling and analysis.
  • Strong time management, organisational, communication, and report writing skills.
