Community Living Assistant

The Royal Mencap Society is seeking a Community Living Assistant to join their team in York. As a key member of the support team, you will provide outstanding support to individuals with autism, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their community.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual who can provide personal care, support with daily living tasks, and encourage individuals to engage in their local community. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to build strong relationships, and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, showering, and using the bathroom
- Support individuals to live independently, including budget management, cooking healthy meals, and organizing appointments
- Foster positive relationships and communicate effectively with individuals, promoting their understanding of the world around them
- Encourage participation in community activities and social events, promoting life skills and individuality
Requirements
A salary of £22,500 per annum is offered, plus 24 days annual leave and a range of benefits.
