Civil Engineer

AECOM is a global leader in infrastructure consulting, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle. We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of complex railway infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate engineering designs from various skill areas, including signalling, electrification, and permanent way.
- Plan the phasing of construction and commissioning work to minimize disruption to passengers and the public.
- Ensure designs maximize sustainability outcomes during construction and the asset's whole life.
- Develop safe and maintainable designs that protect passengers and the public.
- Produce concept and outline design proposals that solve client challenges in railway maintenance, renewal, and enhancement.
- Work on structural inspection, assessment, and design of bridges and other railway structures.
- Analyze and calculate new civil and structural components.
- Design railway stations and work on projects that improve or create new urban realm, station buildings, platforms, footbridges, and concourses.
Requirements:
- BEng in Civil Engineering (2:1 or equivalent).
- MEng in Civil Engineering (2:1 or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Modules in Rail are an advantage.
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a team and independently, with close cooperation and initiative.
