Railway Engineering Opportunities

AECOM is a global leader in infrastructure consulting, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle. We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of complex railway infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate engineering designs from various skill areas, including signalling, electrification, and permanent way.
  • Plan the phasing of construction and commissioning work to minimize disruption to passengers and the public.
  • Ensure designs maximize sustainability outcomes during construction and the asset's whole life.
  • Develop safe and maintainable designs that protect passengers and the public.
  • Produce concept and outline design proposals that solve client challenges in railway maintenance, renewal, and enhancement.
  • Work on structural inspection, assessment, and design of bridges and other railway structures.
  • Analyze and calculate new civil and structural components.
  • Design railway stations and work on projects that improve or create new urban realm, station buildings, platforms, footbridges, and concourses.

Requirements:

  • BEng in Civil Engineering (2:1 or equivalent).
  • MEng in Civil Engineering (2:1 or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Modules in Rail are an advantage.
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently, with close cooperation and initiative.
