Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered General Nurse to join our team as a Ward Manager on the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ward.

The Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit is a 22-bedded unit that provides care to patients in the first hours and days post-stroke. We are a tertiary centre for mechanical thrombectomy and hemi-craniectomy pathways. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires strong leadership skills and expertise in stroke care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  1. Leading the ward team in delivering high-quality patient care.
  2. Maintaining standards of care and providing regular reports to the Directorate.
  3. Ensuring continuity of care for patients on the ward.
  4. Evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and care provided and making changes as needed.
  5. Working collaboratively with colleagues across professional, organisational, and system boundaries to influence and improve health outcomes.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will possess:
  1. A valid registration as a Registered General Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12, or 15 of the register).
  2. Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable postgraduate-level experience.
  3. A teaching/assessment mentoring qualification.
  4. Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team.

Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is £43,041-£71,470 per annum, depending on experience.
