Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Learning Disabilities Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Learning Disabilities Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to adults with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, develop, and implement speech and language therapy treatment plans for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to service users.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure high-quality care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to speech and language therapy services.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care and support.
Requirements:
  • Recognised professional qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Minimum of five years post-qualifying experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, including a minimum of three years in learning disability.
  • Experience of working with adults with a wide range of speech, language, and/or communication needs.
  • Ability to deliver training and presentations to other professionals and service users.
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding adults and children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
