Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a driven and experienced Procurement Specialist to join People Solutions in Chessington.

About the Role

This is a full-time and permanent position within the manufacturing and production industry, responsible for controlling and monitoring all manufacturing purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Report supplier performance to the Operations Manager.
  • Liaise directly with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on required dates and confirmations have been received at best price.
  • Maintain required stock levels by monitoring historical trends and setting minimum/maximum stock levels.
  • Book in all deliveries onto the system.
  • Liaise directly with operational employees/suppliers to resolve any issues with deliveries received.
  • Induct temporary staff to the required Health and Safety requirements.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager.
  • Material Issuing on the system.
  • Production planning.
  • Problem solving.
  • People management and monitoring staff performance against objectives, training and safe systems of work.
  • Initiate action to address shortfalls.
Requirements:
  • Strong buying/purchasing experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working within production and manufacturing.
  • Comfortable with stock control procedure.
  • Clear and effective communication, both verbally and written.
