Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team at Clarus Education Ltd. As an SEN Teacher, you will work with children and young people with Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop, and raise their self-esteem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support students with ASD/SEMH needs, helping them achieve their potential.
  • Collaborate with in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals.
  • Develop and implement creative, bespoke lesson plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Manage and understand challenging behaviour, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Communicate effectively with non-verbal pupils using tools like Makaton, PECs, and PODD.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with autistic pupils and those with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to communicate in various ways, especially with non-verbal students.
  • Familiarity with autism strategies such as TEACCH and Attention Autism.
  • Flexible to teach pupils aged 4-11, with a creative approach to lesson delivery.
  • Resilient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference.
