Job Title: Electronics Engineer with Analogue and Digital Design

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team as part of a small group of engineers responsible for designing and maintaining electronic instrumentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analogue and digital design, with experience in developing new electronic instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new electronic instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing designs to meet legislative requirements and improve performance.
  • Propose and prepare electronic specifications to meet functional requirements.
  • Prototype, test, and document results, as well as present test data to others.
  • Troubleshoot development and production issues, contributing to test and inspection plans as necessary.
  • Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal and external personnel as required.
  • Maintain electronic and software information to meet quality system requirements.
  • Advise on content and provide outline and key details required for others to prepare technical support documentation.
  • Look for continuous improvement within electronic and software design, and ideas for improving the quality and efficiency of the Company's operations, products, and services.
  • Train other employees in technical and operation matters and above responsibilities, as and when required.

Experience and Skills:
  • The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of instrumentation and monitoring systems and be familiar with signal processing and instrumentation.
  • HND or degree level in electronics or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of electronics (hardware) product development and design experience.
  • Circuit board design software package knowledge; Altium, Cadence, or similar.
  • EMC, RoHS, LVD, CE/UKCA design compliance.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) design and implementation experience would be advantageous.
  • Capable of applying knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues.
  • Firmware design would be advantageous.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
