Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV driver to join our team at Burton's Biscuit. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering stock from our bakeries to our distribution sites and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver stock from our bakeries to our distribution sites and customers
  • Accurately record daily runs on a driver's deployment sheet
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the company tractor unit and report any defects
  • Communicate with team members, bakery sites, and 3rd party sites
  • Build strong relationships with team members, managers, and customers
  • Work extra hours if required and always finish daily runs where legally possible

Requirements:

  • Clean HGV Class 1 driving licence with at least 2 years' experience
  • Experience of using/pulling DD trailers is preferred but not essential
  • Up-to-date drivers CPC
  • Ability to plan routes to avoid road closures, road works, and low bridges
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Safe driving practices
  • Understanding of WTD regulations for drivers
  • Punctuality
  • Self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
