Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in the financial operations of Helen of Troy, a global designer, developer, and marketer of well-recognized and trusted brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and recording accounting entries in the Finance module of Sage, preparing monthly reconciliations, and participating in the Month-end closing activities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and record accounting entries in the Finance module of Sage
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation to trial balance with supporting schedules
- Weekly cash flow statement preparation and interpretation
- Manage relationships with third parties, including auditors, foreign payroll providers, and foreign TAX and VAT consultancy firms
- Ensure intercompany accounts are in balance and coordinate reconciliations with other Finance groups
- Process certain categories of AP invoices in Sage
- Maintain suppliers' master data in Sage
- Ensure approval of AP invoices according to corporate policy and process
- Control accuracy of legal requirements on invoices received (VAT, addresses, etc.)
- Investigate and resolve suppliers' invoices discrepancies
- Save electronically all invoices received
- Advanced IT skills in MS tools (Excel)
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Commercial and Business awareness
- European VAT knowledge
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), French a plus
