We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team in a small Children's Home in a rural community within South Powys. The home provides a safe and supportive environment for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Work on a day shift rota to provide continuous care and support to the children and young people living in the home.
- Build positive relationships through nurture, teaching connection before correction, and promote healthy, safe routines by creating a warm and inclusive home environment.
- Organise and promote activities for children and young people to learn new things and explore interests, hobbies, and life skills within the home and the local community.
- Work in partnership with families and carers of young people to achieve the aims and objectives of their plans.
- Follow agreed policies, procedures, and legislative standards in your work, striving to keep up to date with best practice.
- A minimum age of employment of 22 years old.
- A patient and calm manner, with the ability to connect with young people and promote healthy routines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a small team.
- A commitment to providing professional and specialist care to children and young people, delivered in a way that is sensitive to their needs.
