This role offers a rare opportunity for an experienced hands-on payroll professional to join a professional business that is leading the way in its sector. You will genuinely make a difference by developing and managing the payroll function for the business and clients.

The Role:

  • Take the lead on establishing, then leading the payroll function as it grows.
  • Developing and managing the payroll function for the business and clients.
  • Responsible for the timely input of payroll data including calculation of maternity, paternity, overtime, overpayments and attachment of earnings, as well as starters and leavers.
  • Ensuring the accurate application of pay rises and additional pay increases.
  • Reviewing the monthly payroll and overseeing the BACs file for the pay run.
  • Leading on the payroll and pensions processes, ensuring accurate monthly pension & HMRC reporting and submissions
  • Payroll reporting for senior management team, including variances, overtime reporting, etc.
  • Handling complex salary pensions and tax queries and explaining information.
  • Leading on the improvement of payroll systems and processes.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining pension schemes.
  • Liaising with finance, HR and clients in relation to payroll queries.
  • Liaising with HR to ensure HR compliance in terms of legislation, policies and procedures.

Salary: A highly competitive salary, based on experience and qualifications, of approximately £45,000 - £60,000 per annum.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Location: Office based near Exeter, with some remote working options.

You will be a first-rate communicator able to lead and positively manage and empower others to achieve. You should enjoy using your expertise to see the bigger picture and plan ahead whilst also being hands on to deliver an accurate and timely payroll and pensions function.
