Volunteer Smoking Cessation Advisor
About the RoleIn this rewarding role at VIA, you will be supporting our Redbridge Quits Smoking service. As a Volunteer Smoking Cessation Advisor, you will work collaboratively with our team to promote smoking cessation support both within and outside of our service.
Key Responsibilities- Support the running of the smoking cessation clinic by booking appointments, handling correspondence, and responding to client inquiries.
- Liaise with professionals and community groups to raise awareness about our service and encourage referrals from clients.
- Maintain accurate records to track progress and meet key goals.
- Participate in community engagement and awareness events across the borough.
As a Volunteer Smoking Cessation Advisor, you will have opportunities to shadow and observe healthcare professionals delivering smoking cessation services. You will also receive support to interact with individuals seeking help and can attend training to become a qualified smoking cessation advisor.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you should be able to commit to a six-month period where possible. We ask that volunteers make a sincere effort to dedicate their time to this rewarding opportunity.
