Job Description

As a Senior Cost Accountant in Witney, you will work in a modern, highly automated facility, participating in the daily operations of the Finance department.

  • Completing and submitting planning schedules for the Annual Plan, Quarterly Latest Best Estimates, and Long Range Plans as per the Divisional calendar.
  • Understanding, owning, and supervising the annual standard cost-setting process for all manufactured product lines, including detailed manufacturing costing analysis and variances from standard.
  • Business Partnering with Operations, participating in relevant onsite meetings to understand key operational issues and their impact on the Financials.
  • Identifying and implementing cost savings in materials and labour, managing inventory planning, and conducting timely monthly reviews of relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Sharing internal and external audit compliance activities with the rest of the Finance team.
  • Working on process improvement initiatives and projects with the support of external systems consultants to achieve quality reporting as well as time and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborating with the wider Finance team on the timely completion of month-end tasks, including preparing and sending relevant reports on time and in full to various parties across the business and division.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Cost Accountant will be highly proactive and passionate about cost accounting and process improvements, with a solid background in handling large volumes of data and condensing them into executive summaries.

Ideally, the candidate will hold a full Qualification in CIMA/ACA/ACCA with significant experience in a manufacturing environment. The candidate must be organised, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
