Job Title: Youth Support Team Lead

We have an amazing opportunity for a qualified youth support worker to step up into a Trainee Deputy Manager role in a modern semi-independent residential home in Taunton. As a key member of the management team, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults 16+ with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

**Role Overview:**
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards. You will also work closely with the Outreach and Supported Living Director, Team Manager, and Supported Living/Outreach Support Workers to ensure that they work closely with the children and young people accessing the service, who they support, ensuring all team members are nurturing, listening, and encouraging.

Key Responsibilities:
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To support the manager and team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams, and budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets expected care standards.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring the safety of the young people and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's needs.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or senior post holder seeking career advancement within a similar social care setting or with Young People ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare or equivalent ESSENTIAL
- Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence ESSENTIAL
- Children Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge ESSENTIAL
