Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with business and their representative bodies to support the Government's Make Work Pay strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and individual trade unions to support the Make Work Pay strategic objectives.
  • Use your networks to build cross-Whitehall understanding and capability of the trade union landscape.
  • Drive and deliver regular senior engagement across the stakeholder landscape on a wide range of Make Work Pay developments, ensuring stakeholder views are fed into cross-Whitehall policy making and delivery.
  • Provide strategic input to the Plan to Make Work Pay, identifying risks and further opportunities for change and development.

Person Specification

  • Strong understanding of the employment law framework, both in terms of individual rights and collective rights.
  • Experience of rapid policy development and oversight across a broad range of high-profile issues.
  • Knowledge of the stakeholder environment, both in the business community and amongst trade unions and others in civil society.
  • Experience of leading high-quality engagement with a range of stakeholders.
