Electrical Maintenance Specialist

About the Role
Tarmac is a leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, delivering infrastructure for the UK's economic growth while creating a more sustainable built environment for the long-term future.
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Tarmac Stowfield Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Coleford. This role involves working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work with minimal supervision. They should have proven experience working in an industrial, factory, or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to plant breakdowns, repair equipment efficiently, and maintain safety and statutory compliance.
- Improve plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
- Utilize documents, maintain policies, and guidelines for safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Level 3 Apprentice-trained Electrician and ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- 17th Edition - BS I.E.E Regulations and Legislation as a minimum (18th Edition preferred).
- Testing & Inspection qualification (preferred).
- Experience of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology and Continuous Improvement.
- Working knowledge of relevant electrical and control engineering maintenance principles and practices.
- Working knowledge and experience of Industrial Low Voltage power distribution systems.
- Good working understanding of PLC's and use of associated tools and techniques for interrogation of software.
- Knowledge and understanding of AC Drives and Motors.
- Knowledgeable in the area of Pre Planned Maintenance.
- Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
- Ability to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams.
- Ability to perform electrical statutory tests and inspections.
