We are seeking a Student Success Advocate to join our team at Bluetownonline. As a Student Success Advocate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students to achieve their full potential.

About the Job:

  • To provide high-quality support to students, enabling them to succeed academically and personally.
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage students, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
    • Provide formative feedback to students on their assignments, guiding them towards improvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of students' assignment submission progress, ensuring timely completion.
    • Serve as a key point of contact for students, facilitating regular meetings and fostering supportive relationships.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate students into the learning community, promoting a sense of inclusivity.
    • Encourage students to think critically about their learning, beyond individual modules.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Work collaboratively with the College team to ensure smooth premises and facilities operations.
    • Participate actively in various College-wide activities, such as duty rotas, enrolment events, and marketing initiatives.
    • Engage in training and team development activities to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices.
    • Understand and commit to the College's health and safety Policy statement and safety priorities, recognizing your contribution to maintaining a safe environment.
    • Be aware of and demonstrate commitment to the College's equality policies, promoting diversity throughout your work.
    • Familiarize yourself with safeguarding requirements outlined in the College's policies and comply with them to protect the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
    • Perform additional duties or projects directed by the directors or senior managers, contributing to the College's overall objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a strong academic background.
  • Able to recommend resources based on subject expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to teach and motivate others.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for quality.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing stress and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements when working with student data and sensitive information.
  • A good team player willing to assist others during busy periods, helping to develop a greater understanding of roles to cover key office tasks during leave or absence.
  • Proven experience in higher education settings, with a track record of delivering high-quality support to students.
  • Estimated Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.
