Senior Procurement Specialist

M-Tec Engineering Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join their Purchasing department. As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the return of savings targets set out in the company budget process, ensuring all NPI Project targets are met, and continually proposing savings generated through the area of the supply chain responsible for.
Key Responsibilities- Direct procurement of materials and parts for manufacture.
- Ongoing management of a direct material spend assigned.
- Working towards year-on-year cost savings and supply chain improvements.
- Closing liaison with Engineering.
- Reading engineering drawings and managing bills of material.
- Delivering sourcing projects to achieve defined business goals and objectives both financial and non-financial.
- Sourcing requirements will include products, services, and minor works as well as sourcing new programmes through a full tender process.
- Sourcing projects and control progress ensuring cost and time targets are met.
- Strategic sourcing, running structured procurement process with defined governance.
- Supplier engagement.
- Ability to negotiate, including running and planning negotiations.
- Negotiations with 1st Tier Suppliers.
- Analysis of 2nd Tier Supplier costs.
- Global bench marking and ensuring total cost is understood.
- Extensive liaison with internal customer base.
- Monitoring commodity global prices and market trends.
- Influencing cost drivers.
- Ensuring that all Quality, Environment, and Health and Safety legislation are adhered to.
- Ensuring all department procedures are adhered to.
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in the department, to the business's 5S working philosophy.
- Consistently identifying opportunities for improvement within the department and recording all improvements.
- Any other duties to support the needs of the business.
- A recognised degree qualification or equivalent (CIPS qualified or working towards).
- Proven experience in purchasing function within the manufacturing industry.
