A high-profile banking client is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee a portfolio of key Utilities sector clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Credit Risk Manager to drive strategic relationships, conduct in-depth credit assessments, and provide actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of counterparties in the Utilities sector, developing strong relationships with major UK companies.
  • Perform independent credit evaluations for new opportunities and annual reviews, presenting findings to senior stakeholders. You will identify and analyze financial, structural, operational, and environmental risks, providing clear guidance for informed decision-making.
  • Utilize external research from specialist providers, credit rating agencies, and media reports to assess clients' market positioning within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with relationship managers, originators, and product partners to develop robust credit proposals, striking a balance between risk and reward.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and escalate emerging risks to senior management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in sector-wide reviews with key stakeholders, identifying areas of both risk and opportunity.
  • Lead high-level credit-focused meetings with external clients and internal teams, leveraging prior experience to enhance team processes.
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience in corporate credit analysis, preferably within Regulated and Integrated Utilities.
  • A strong track record in assessing large corporates and managing complex lending and derivative transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to analyze and manipulate complex financial models (strong Excel skills required).
  • The capacity to build strong working relationships and work effectively within a supportive, ambitious team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clarity and precision in your recommendations.
