About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Engineer to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for coordinating production runs, diagnosing and repairing faulty customer units, and supporting our electronic hardware engineers with prototyping and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate production runs, including product testing and quality control
  • Provide support to electronic hardware engineers with prototyping and development
  • Diagnose and repair faulty customer units
  • Maintain stock levels of assembled products and component parts
  • Record-keeping of supplied systems
  • Periodic customer support and product repairs
  • Preparing work for production assistants and ensuring they are working efficiently
  • Aiding in research and development work as required
  • Responding to requests from the development team
  • Assembling electronic hardware through hand-soldering and the use of heat guns and beds
  • Testing of hardware modules and final assembled products
  • Writing or contributing to product/project documentation
  • Some basic electrical work on products, mainly wiring-related
  • Assessing and understanding customer needs to contribute towards product design
  • Possible occasional demonstration of products and concepts to customers
  • Maintain an organized workspace
  • Other duties delegated by management
Requirements
  • Able to use laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators
  • Able to solder to a high standard, including small pitch SMT components
  • Thorough production builds, good practice as a finisher-completer
  • Effective communication
  • Organized
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Advantageous experience: experience with RF, experience with low power circuits, basic electrical wiring knowledge, ability to use a spectrum analyzer
