Teaching and Learning Associate

We are looking for a skilled Teaching and Learning Associate to join our team at Provide Education - West Yorkshire, a specialist school catering to students aged 7-18 with diverse Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role:
This role involves supporting students during indoor and outdoor activities, creating an engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with childcare duties, contributing to educational programs, and staying alert for signs of distress or safeguarding concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students in both indoor and outdoor activities, fostering a positive learning environment.
• Assist with childcare duties and contribute to the effective delivery of educational programs.
• Remain vigilant for signs of distress or safeguarding concerns, responding appropriately to ensure student well-being.
• Build meaningful relationships with students through active listening, engaging conversations, and observing behavior.
• Participate in care planning, reviews, and key meetings, contributing to holistic student support.
• Attend supervisions and team meetings to ensure smooth transitions and adherence to school policies.
• Manage and support individual student risks during educational activities.
• Prepare, display, and celebrate student work, enhancing their learning experience.
• Collaborate with professionals such as Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Residential Care Workers to provide comprehensive support.
Requirements:
• Patience, reliability, and ability to work independently with a proactive and flexible approach.
• Previous experience working with children and young people with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and ADHD.
• GCSEs in Math, English, and Science.
• A relevant qualification in education or SEND is desirable.
• Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated individual demonstrating initiative and commitment to student success.
• Full manual driving licence is desirable due to location and nature of activities.
The salary for this role is approximately £28,000-£35,000 per annum.
