We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the processing department, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal lead times. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising works foremen and warehouse operatives, managing shift patterns, and delegating tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the processing department, including saws and shot blasters, to maximize efficiency and minimize lead times.
- Supervise works foremen and warehouse operatives, manage shift patterns, and ensure effective task delegation.
- Work closely with sales and transport teams to optimize daily outputs and meet customer needs.
- Lead training programs to develop a multi-skilled workforce, ensuring all employees are well-versed in their duties and safety procedures.
- Manage the Safety Cloud portal for ISO45001:2018 compliance, oversee PPE adherence, and conduct safety drills and audits.
- Ensure all personnel follow quality systems and procedures in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Monitor and control warehouse costs, ensuring they stay within budget.
- Oversee the maintenance schedule for site equipment and facilities, ensuring all repairs and checks are completed promptly.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a similar industry; metals, manufacturing, engineering.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly ISO45001.
- Familiarity with quality assurance standards, especially ISO 9001.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
