The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compiler Engineer to join our Calculation Framework team in London. This team is responsible for developing the underlying data runtime, batch, and frameworks that enable our customers to select and customize their analytics. This is a technical position that requires maintaining a low-level stack and designing the next iteration.

Successful candidates will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of computers at the low level, including database engine design and parallel computing to create highly scalable computing power.

Responsibilities
  1. Enhance our groundbreaking big data processing runtime, building out its capabilities and improving its performance.
  2. Create a financial analytics 'app store' as part of our self-service approach to metrics.
  3. Identify underlying production issues, leveraging knowledge and experience to suggest actionable solutions.
  4. Collaborate with other teams across engineering as well as cross-functionally.
  5. Partner with external stakeholders to design our services, demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism throughout.
Requirements

Main Skills/Competencies:

  1. Proven software engineering ability using C#, C++ or Java.
  2. Keen interest in low-level computing memory management, pointers, compilers.
  3. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  4. Passionate about building highly performant and scalable solutions.
  5. Happy designing from scratch using first principles as well as off-the-shelf technologies.
  6. Experience of cloud-native software development.
  7. Keen interest or experience working in the financial services industry.
Desirable Skills/Competencies

Experience with modern C# frameworks such as.NET 8, AWS S3, EC2, ECS.
