The Ss Coalition seeks an experienced Energy Infrastructure Lawyer to join their team in Coventry or Birmingham. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to £71,000.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will provide specialist in-house legal advice within the Energy Infrastructure Services area of the business. They will report into one of the Senior Legal Counsels and primarily support their respective business area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice on all aspects of development, sales, construction, and operation of new and existing energy infrastructure projects.
  • Work with Commercial Leads to develop innovative decarbonisation strategies and advise on any changes required to template and existing contracts as a result of upcoming regulation and decarbonisation of the UK heat market.
  • Draft and negotiate a full spectrum of commercial contracts including heat network contracts such as ESCO waste heat offtake and private wire agreements.
  • Support energy solutions business by providing day-to-day assistance on all aspects of development, sale, procurement, construction, and operation of energy solutions projects (including on-site and off-site PV solar wind and heat pumps) for industrial and commercial and public sector customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • UK-qualified solicitor or barrister with experience advising on complex commercial agreements.
  • Business acumen with a practical commercial approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to work independently and proactively but also a reliable team player.
  • Flexible to work to tight timescales in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal confidently and build strong and trusting relationships with business colleagues.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
