The Leonardo Training Academy is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Lead to join our team. As a Project Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the success of all training activities on assigned projects, providing clear expectations of training milestones and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the training design, development, and delivery aspects of projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule, and budget.
- Manage personnel, ensuring that roles within teams are clearly defined.
- Create a positive working relationship with customers and partners to deliver project training capabilities.
- Establish and maintain good lines of communication internally across the Engineering Management community, the Academy IPT lead, Project Managers, and functional heads.
- Work closely with training Governance and Systems Design Authority to ensure they are fully informed on technical progress, technical risk, and any mitigation strategies.
- Ensure the training solution meets end-user requirements, is complete, fully documented, and compatible with the business area route map.
- Control training configuration and change management to ensure design reuse is maximized.
- Run bids and estimating activities from a technical point of view.
- Support the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions.
- Capture candidate concept solutions, including the results of any trade-off studies and end-user engagement.
- Strong technical/engineering background, ideally within the EW and training domains.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, but can also demonstrate team working skills.
- Experience of working across the full engineering development life cycle.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an engineering/technical subject.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Understanding of Electronic Warfare Operational Support.
- Commercial and business awareness.
