An Exciting Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Freight Trading Data Analyst - Optimisation Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Crude & Products Freight Trading desks, you'll play a crucial role in delivering bottom line value through data analysis and visualisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time consumptions and emissions to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Create and enhance existing vessel optimisation tools to monitor and visualise fleet performance and emissions data.
  • Develop platforms and dashboards to provide traders with critical data on fleet performance, including average consumption, best speeds, and emissions.
  • Collaborate with the Vessel Performance Manager to implement best practices for running time charter fleets and support real-time interventions.
  • Engage external service providers on voyage optimisation and analytics, providing ad-hoc commercial and contractual advice as needed.
  • Identify areas for commercial value addition and exposure to value leakage, implementing solutions to address these issues.
  • Support the Shipping Value team in applying ideas that can benefit the Oil Time Chartered Fleet.
  • Assist the Vessel Performance Manager in data analysis and presentation for engagements with external parties, such as owners and technical managers.
  • Act as backup for managing vessel performance claims processes and recoveries.

What We Need from You

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation skills, particularly with MS Excel, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Ability to extract and analyse data from multiple sources using analytical tools.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills as demands evolve.
  • Keen interest in data analytics and understanding the key insights it provides.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with colleagues in a multinational and interdisciplinary environment.
  • Good communicator who can convey technical information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project and time management skills, as well as organisational abilities.
  • Good team player.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
