Electrical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Engineer Electrical Maintenance to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited.
About the Role:As a Shift Engineer Electrical Maintenance, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks, including attending to breakdowns and routine preventative maintenance programmes, to minimize machinery downtime.
You will work across all shifts, using your technical expertise to solve reasons for breakdowns and undertake corrective and preventative actions to resolve issues.
Key duties will include:
- Repairs and maintenance of PLC controlled machinery
- Recording and reporting of maintenance activities
- Conducting equipment inspections and determining appropriate job work scopes and standards
- Creating and maintaining plant history and other technical files
- Providing technical assistance to improve the reliability and performance of the plant's machinery
- Complying with company policies and procedures
You will be working with a computer-based maintenance management system to support the maintenance function.
Requirements:To be successful in this role, you will need:
- NVQ Level 3 electrical/engineering qualification or equivalent
- Minimum 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent
- Time/skill-served mechanically, electrically advantageous, with industrial experience
- Minimum 3 years' FMCG experience
- Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, mechanical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals
- Experience of both the installation of new equipment and overhaul of existing equipment
- A sound knowledge of control systems, conveyors, mechanical drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Experience of TIG welding, turning, milling, and fabrication
