About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance services to our clinical and non-clinical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members.
Requirements
  • Recognized and registered ETIB or CITB (or equivalent) craft/modern apprenticeship or Time served apprenticeship (level 3)
  • Current driving license with the ability to drive category B.
  • Desirable criteria: HNC Mechanical Engineering, Further specialist qualifications (minimum of three of the below on appointment, rest to be achieved within 2 years): Ventilation (CP), Pressure Systems (SP), Medical gas (CP), Decontamination (CP), Air conditioning and refrigeration.
