Exciting Opportunity for a Legal Counsel

Your new company Hays Specialist Recruitment is delighted to represent a nationwide manufacturing company, currently recruiting a Legal Counsel to join their evolving legal team in a dynamic environment.

About the Role

This is a truly exciting opportunity to join the legal team of a leading manufacturing company. You will work closely with colleagues across a group of companies providing timely, sound, commercially focused legal advice on a range of commercial agreements of varying complexity, major projects, transactions, procurement, trademarks, GDPR, civil litigation, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, amendments to standard terms and conditions of purchase, and bespoke agreements.
  • Advising on and managing a wide range of legal issues, including civil litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Evaluating and weighing multiple inputs/impacts of decisions/courses of action and identifying proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Assisting with the continued development of compliance programs and advising on ad hoc compliance-related queries, such as competition law, anti-bribery and corruption, and conflict of interest.
Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will be a solicitor or barrister with ideally 2+ years post-qualified experience within a commercial environment. You will also:

  • Have the ability to manage a wide range of legal issues and be accustomed to finding commercial solutions to legal problems.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and procurement contracts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships and relate to clients at all levels of the business.
