Field Telemetry Specialist

Electricty North West is seeking a skilled Telemetry Technician to join their team in the Lakes region. As a key member of the Network & Telecommunications team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Remote Terminal Units (RTU) and other intelligent electronic devices that support the SCADA / Control System used by ENWL to monitor and control the electricity system.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with ENWL health and safety regulations, identifying risks and working safely in various locations and environments.
- Liaise and assist internal and external stakeholders with the delivery of Telemetry workstreams.
- Adhere to ENWL Codes of Practice (COP) and policies related to Telemetry and Automation systems of the electricity network, including the Network Management System (NMS).
- Support the development and implementation of new technologies to enable ENWL to meet stakeholder requirements.
- City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject.
- Experience in electrical or electronic engineering, fault finding, repair, and maintenance.
- Skilled in the maintenance of electronic equipment, with experience in following maintenance procedures and schedules.
- An understanding of Electricity Distribution safety rules, telecommunication practices, and principles.
- Familiarity with DC and AC power systems.
- Knowledge of Remote Terminal Units (RTU) used within Control and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of electricity distribution systems, DNO, and DSO.
