About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team at SRC Infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing civil design engineering solutions for a variety of clients' projects within the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and implement client specification requirements in the development of designs and engineering solutions
  • Undertake civil design/engineering on UK rail or related projects with a good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standards
  • Resolve technical civil engineering issues
  • Scope and supervise civil surveys where required
  • Undertake technical tasks in accordance with the company's quality, safety and project management/engineering procedures and controls
  • Accountable for the effective delivery of the assigned tasks and deliverables of Projects to time, to the required quality
  • Manage and plan your work and deliverables while working on multiple projects to meet the expected delivery milestones
  • Support the Project team with tendering activities ensuring the quality of estimates, Civil Engineering implementation strategies and methodologies are robust, constructible, and cost effective
  • Solve engineering problems to achieve cost effective designs and develop innovative solutions
Requirements
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Bsc, MSc or MEng) or equivalent
  • At least 5+ years, post-graduate experience in civil engineering
  • Experience in the Rail Industry and a sound understanding of the Rail Environment, rules and regulations
  • Production of design deliverables, packages of drawings, specifications and experience in the design of rail-related structures
  • Experience and good knowledge of TfL Pathway or Network Rail GRIP, PACE and civil engineering standards and specifications
  • Computer literate and good experience of computer software programs such as, MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Knowledge of the complete project life cycle
  • Experience of composite steel/concrete, masonry, geotechnical and timber design
  • Experience in computer software for the analysis of structures
