Financial Strategist

An experienced Finance Business Partner is required to provide strategic financial guidance and support to our Local Authority client.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of providing financial support and advice to a wide range of services within Local Authorities, particularly within the Children directorate.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting managers to make informed financial decisions and achieve the best possible services in the current financial climate.
• Adding value to business decisions and working closely with the business to develop service planning and support delivery.
• Identifying business opportunities and supporting the business to develop them.
• Ensuring the commercial perspective is applied to all appropriate service delivery.
• Effectively challenging the strategic financial position of the business.
• Implementing standard processes, where appropriate, across all areas of our delivery.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, an understanding of accounting principles and practices, and awareness of current national and local issues relating to local government.
