Job Description

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching phonics and maths across different age ranges
  • Covering PPA time
  • Leading and supporting pupils in a group and teaching at whole class level
  • Developing and implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Collaborating with teachers to raise standards and improve pupil outcomes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant status
  • Experience throughout all key stages
  • High expectations, with the commitment and drive to raise standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong subject knowledge of curriculum areas, particularly in maths and English (GCSE equivalent A-C)
