Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Manufacturing Operations Lead to oversee production operations within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role is crucial in ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent production across both manual and automated lines. The successful candidate will work closely with production operators to maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and productivity.
Salary Estimate: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities- Production Operations Oversight: Supervise day-to-day operations of both manual and automated production lines, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Safety Leadership: Collaborate with production operators to promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all work practices comply with industry regulations and company safety protocols.
- Production Optimization: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production efficiency, reducing waste, and minimizing downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards by monitoring production processes and conducting routine checks to ensure products meet all quality specifications.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Work with maintenance and technical teams to address operational issues promptly, minimizing disruptions and ensuring smooth production flow.
- Staff Development: Assist in training and guiding operators, promoting best practices, and supporting skill development within the production team.
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete all required documentation, including shift reports, safety logs, and production records, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Production Supervisor in a regulated manufacturing environment; familiarity with chemicals, food, or FMCG sectors is highly desirable.
- Safety and Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing context.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, and develop production operators in a team-oriented setting.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to addressing production challenges.
- Adaptability: Comfortable with both manual and automated production processes and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Competency: Basic understanding of production line mechanics and automated systems; ability to support operators with minor adjustments or troubleshooting.
- Documentation Skills: Proficient in documenting and reporting production activities in line with regulatory requirements.
