Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom Kent County Council Full time

About Us

Kent County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Canterbury Community Team. As a key member of our team, you will work with adults who require care and support, providing person-centered interventions and building strong relationships with individuals, their families, and carers.

Your Role

You will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks, including Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) Assessments, Court of Protection applications, and safeguarding enquiries. Our social care interventions are structured around three pillars: excellent practice, exceptional innovation, and meaningful measures.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive benefits package, including a generous annual leave allowance, local government pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development. You will have access to our social care academy, progression routes, and a newly launched practice framework. We also offer support for specialist practice development, including Approved Mental Health Professional Training, Best Interest Assessor Training, and Practice Educator training.

About You

We welcome applications from experienced Social Workers, Registered Nurses, and Occupational Therapists. You will hold a registration with a professional body (Social Work England, HCPC, or Nursing and Midwifery Council) and have a high level of literacy and communication skills. We are looking for individuals with a positive, forward-thinking attitude and a strengths-based approach to practice.

Our Values

We are committed to ensuring that you achieve a healthy work-life balance and have opportunities for flexible working arrangements. We believe in building relationships with individuals, their families, and carers, and we are seeking like-minded professionals to join our team.

Interviews

Interviews will take place at a mutually agreed time. We also welcome applications from experienced professionals who are interested in transitioning to a career in social care. Contact us on 03000 421788 for more information.
