We are seeking an Assistant or Consultant Ecologist to join our small and growing ecology team in Norwich. As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with our Director of Ecology and senior ecologists to deliver ecology and biodiversity surveys and assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior ecologists, design teams, and project managers in all ecology and biodiversity deliverables;
  • Conduct habitat and species surveys, lead simpler surveys, and communicate clearly and in a timely manner;
  • Report writing, including carrying out desk studies, consultations, research, data management, and analysis;
  • Help scope proposals and work up fees, conduct health and safety risk assessments, and participate in team meetings;
Qualifications and Experience

We require in excess of one year of relevant UK experience, with a driving license and CIEEM membership preferred.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Team player with excellent communication skills;
  • Able to undertake site work, including staying away from home if required, with expenses paid by the company;
  • Confident and motivated to work both alone and as an assistant, with a good attitude to health, safety, and wellbeing;
  • Strong report writing and data analysis skills, with developing commercial knowledge and knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
