About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Advanced Resource Managers Ltd, a leading innovator in marine engineering. As a key member of our design team, you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge decarbonization solutions for the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design Leadership: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to generate design concepts through to production, ensuring solutions meet all functional, quality, timing, and cost requirements.
  2. Project Variety: Work on diverse projects, from large-scale fabricated structures to unique prototypes, and either lead smaller projects or play a key role in larger programs.
  3. Ownership & Development: Take responsibility for the design of components and systems, adhering to company processes and standards while driving continuous improvement in methodologies and toolsets.
  4. Technical Excellence: Perform hand calculations for mechanical systems, contribute to DFMEA's, and support the physical build, evaluation, and validation of designs.
  5. Project Management: Monitor project plans, progress, and manage external resources, balancing multiple concurrent projects with clear communication of priorities and risks.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine, or Aerospace Engineering.
  2. Extensive experience using a major CAD system (preferably NX) to produce detailed drawings with proper GD&T and DFM application.
  3. Strong mechanical engineering principles, including design calculations and a deep understanding of materials, welding, bonding, and fastening techniques.
  4. Experience designing both metallic and composite components.
  5. Familiarity with hands-on workshop activities like fabrication and CNC machining is desirable.
  6. Proficiency in classical hand calculations and experience with FEA tools for design validation.
  7. Project management experience and a commitment to ownership and delivery of tasks with precision and attention to detail.
