About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Urban Planning Graduate to join our team in Edinburgh. As a Graduate Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting a wide variety of projects, engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to secure successful planning outcomes.

You will work closely with experienced members of the team to deliver live projects and business development tasks, providing technical inputs to land use planning projects and contributing to the preparation of planning applications for infrastructure, large-scale residential, and mixed-use schemes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting a wide range of projects, including plan making, development management, and infrastructure projects
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to secure successful planning outcomes
  • Providing technical inputs to land use planning projects
  • Contributing to the preparation of planning applications for infrastructure, large-scale residential, and mixed-use schemes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town or Urban Planning or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Understanding of UK Planning policy and legislation
  • Interest in all aspects of Planning
  • Successfully manage time to meet project deadlines
  • Client-focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative approach with a high level of commitment to quality
